During the first half of 2010, Banco Rural achieved a positive net income of BRL 22 million, which represents an annual return on equity of 10.7%, a higher ROE than the one shown during the period in 2009. The Shareholder’s Equity reached up to BRL 422 million, increasing 22.4% compared to the same period of the year before.
Throughout this period, Banco Rural had a loan portfolio growth of approximately 62.6% in relation to the same period in 2009, remaining accurate to its guidelines for conceding reliable credit along with a risk management process enhanced over the years through a long-term expertise within this sector – SMEs.
The balance for the funding portfolio increased significantly to BRL 3.9 billion, representing a growth of 51.4% in comparison to the same period of the year before.
